PNP denounces allegations made by former Kingston Central caretaker
KINGSTON, Jamaica— The People’s National Party (PNP) has rejected accusations made by the party’s former caretaker for Kingston Central Lawrence Rowe, who stated in a social media post that he was offered $15 million to withdraw from his position.
In a media release Monday, the PNP said it “notes with concern the spurious allegations relating to monetary offers being circulated by a former candidate, sections of the media, and the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP)”.
Following the allegations made by Lawrence, the JLP in a statement, said the actions mentioned indicate “the willingness of the PNP to breach principles of good governance, engage in state capture and employ corrupt means to secure political power.”

However the Opposition has rejected these claims stating that they “contradict the party’s long-standing policies and practices”.
“The PNP remains focused on upholding the principles of transparency and good governance. The matter will be addressed at a time convenient to the party,” the party said.
It went on to encourage the public and media to focus on the party’s continued efforts to serve the people of Kingston Central with integrity and dedication.
