Excitement builds for Observer vision board event
Scotia, BossMom thrilled to onboard
EXCITEMENT is building for this Sunday’s Jamaica Observer All Woman vision board event in Kingston, and sponsors BossMom and Scotiabank Jamaica are the latest to explain how thrilled they are to onboard.
“We at Scotia are thrilled to partner for this event once again,” said Kaysia Johnson-Vaughan, director, small business client experience.
“This year, we’re eager to share practical tips on enhancing financial stability and building wealth through investing.”
Asked how important the concept behind vision boarding is, Johnson-Vaughan said it is a powerful tool that helps individuals articulate their goals visually, serving as both a reminder and a source of motivation.
“We look forward to guiding participants in setting their financial goals for 2025, and stand ready to support them on their journey to achieve those objectives,” she said.
For Michelle Gordon, founder of the The BossMom Network, “thrilled” is the word she used to describe how she feels about the upcoming event.
The BossMom Network was established to support other ‘BossMoms’ through a community of successful, like-minded women balancing family and career.
“I’m thrilled to partner with the Observer,” Gordon said. “Vision boarding is such a powerful tool — especially for BossMoms like me to dream bigger, set intentions, and stay motivated while juggling business and family demands.”
She added: “It’s a blueprint for success, and I can’t wait to see the energy and inspiration it sparks in the room!”
Why vision boarding?
A vision board isn’t just an artsy project — it’s a powerful tool to align your thoughts, emotions, and actions toward success. Here’s how vision boarding can positively impact various areas of your life:
1) Creating a vision board forces you to reflect on what truly matters to you. It helps you focus on your priorities in areas like career, relationships, health, or finances.
Why it works: By visualising specific goals, you create a roadmap for your dreams and gain clarity on where to direct your energy.
2) Seeing your aspirations daily reminds you of your “why” and keeps you inspired.
Why it works: Visual cues like pictures and affirmations trigger positive emotions and help combat self-doubt.
3) Vision boards reinforce positive thinking and visualisation, which are essential for success.
Why it works: Focusing on your dreams helps rewire your brain to believe in possibilities and take action toward them.
4) Vision boards align your focus and energy with what you want, opening doors to opportunities.
Why it works: The law of attraction suggests that what you focus on expands. Your vision board helps you stay attuned to these opportunities.
5) A vision board is a constant reminder of your goals and the steps needed to achieve them.
Why it works: Seeing your goals visually creates a sense of accountability, motivating you to take consistent action.
