Dinthill’s champion choir gets $350,000 boost
INAMI Management Services Limited has donated $350,000 to the members of Dinthill Technical High School’s choir, in recognition of their recent victory in Television Jamaica’s All Together Sing competition.
Speaking at the handover ceremony held at the school on Monday, CEO of INAMI, Donovan Betancourt said, “I am very impressed by the tenacity and stick-to-it-ness that the team has displayed, having had the disappointment of not winning last two years, although they were a favourite.”
Betancourt added that as an alumnus of Dinthill and a former president of the school’s past students’ association, he was honoured to associate his company’s brand with that of Dinthill.
He said that over the last three years INAMI has donated more than $500,000 to the music venture and he is very happy with the return on investment.
The INAMI head encouraged the talented students to persevere, even if they do not receive a reward on their first attempt. He also encouraged the management team and past students’ groupings to continue their support of Dinthill, or other education institutions, noting that national development is everybody’s business.
