Family dispute leaves man hospitalised, another on the run
ST MARY, Jamaica— A New Year’s Day altercation between relatives has left one man in hospital nursing injuries and another on the run.
Reports are that around 6:00 pm, a labourer of Bailey’s Vale District in St Mary returned to the house he shared with other family members and found the door to his room kicked in and the room ransacked.
An argument reportedly developed between the man and a close relative who allegedly used a machete to inflict wounds to the man’s head and hands.
He was taken to the Port Maria Hospital where he was admitted in serious but stable condition.
The relative reportedly fled the scene and is being sought by the police.
The Port Maria police are investigating.
