BMR Wind fetes 200 children
MALVERN, St Elizabeth — Just over 200 children were feted during the festive season at the annual BMR Wind Jamaica Christmas Children’s Treat at Bethlehem Moravian College recently.
The beneficiaries of the treat hail from communities surrounding BMR Wind Jamaica’s plant.
BMR Wind Jamaica, a subsidiary of the Richard Branson-owned BMR Energy LLC, operates a large wind farm in Malvern, supplying energy to electricity provider Jamaica Public Service Company (JPS Co).
Children from the Malvern area received gifts, enjoyed games and other entertainment at the treat on the grounds of Bethlehem College.
Ava Tomlin, BMR Jamaica’s regional manager, said the children from the Malvern area received gifts, enjoyed games and other entertainment at the treat on the grounds of Bethlehem College.
“This community is our family and families get together during Christmas. The community has taken fantastic ownership of the wonderful plant and this is just one of the many ways in which we partner with our family,” she said.
The communities which surround the plant are Bellevue, Potsdam, Smithfield, Malvern Kinowl and St Mary and Roundhill.
