138 Student Living extends goodwill for the holiday season
UNIVERSITY housing company, 138 Student Living (138SL), made good on its promise to spread goodwill and cheer during the holiday season through its corporate social responsibility efforts.
The company brightened the smiles of residents and members of staff of four facilities catering to people with special needs.
The Jamaica National Children’s Home in Papine, City of Refuge in Gordon Town; Sophies Place on Gordon Town Road; and the Annie Dawson Children’s Home in Havendale, all in St Andrew, were the beneficiaries of treats and care packages courtesy of the university housing company.
The residents at the care facilities were gifted with packages containing food, clothing, appliances, and sanitary products.
The visit to the Annie Dawson Home was executed as a partnership with students from the Leslie Robinson Hall at The University of the West Indies, Mona campus, one of the facilities managed by 138SL.
“This is one of our newer activities which resulted from discussions with the resident advisers and student executives at the Leslie Robinson Hall,” said Public Relations and Marketing Manager Karelle McCormack.
It also formed part of ‘Hall Activities’ in which 138SL facilitates and engages with residents on the halls of residence it manages.
The treats all took place during the week leading up to Christmas.
