Keep doing good in your neighbourhood
Dear Editor,
Susan Simes is a limitless vessel tempered with realism. She is a voice determined to mete out the right judgement of an unsettling, nagging past which casually endeavours to eclipse the fervour of the present.
Her work is unrivalled, unmatched in every respect. The spirited void bestowed upon countless souls baptised in wholesome fears, ridicule, and apparent failures finds haven and reset in her midst to counteract the rigours of our world once again.
The Susan Show, a beacon to many, offers testaments of hope.
Susan’s sheer drive to evoke consciousness and selflessness amongst Jamaicans is simply awe-inspiring. Having captured countless hearts, she persistently strives to assure that paths crossed are elevated to a higher realm, feeding from a greater source that seeks to nourish and heal the core of our being. A symbiotic marriage is then realised by an impassioned plea, ‘’To keep doing good in your neighbourhood.’’ A true heroine, a golden phoenix clothe with an immortal decree to alter this archaic order so many are reverent which bleeds instability; determinedly thwarting dreams.
As the year-end draws near, the Desiderata reminds us to align supremely with the forces of goodwill, as we resolutely manoeuvre our seas, hoping to birth a better tomorrow. An excerpt reads: “ Be yourself. Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore, be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be. And whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace in your soul. With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.’’
