Herbert Morrison beat St James High in U19 basketball
Former national champions Herbert Morrison Technical extended their perfect win record in the ISSA Rural Area Under-19 Boys’ Zone A competition by hammering the previously unbeaten St James High 110-35 in a rescheduled game played at Bogue on Thursday.
A day after beating Holmwood Technical 88-40, the high-octane Herbert Morrison offence smothered the St James High team by 75 points, led by a game-high 39 points from D’aire Patterson, who outscored the St James High team by himself.
Herbert Morrison were just as strong in defence as they restricted St James High to single-digit scoring in three of the four quarters as they led 34–7 after the first quarter and were up 57-13 at half-time, then 86-20 at the end of the third quarter.
Daniel Clarke scored 26 points for Herbert Morrison and Ryan Jurdine also got into double digits with 12 points.
Jamie McNeil scored 16 points to lead St James High and Jordan Anderson scored 11 points.
