Sizzla headlines Wray and Nephew Best of the 90s Christmas party
Iconic dancehall and reggae artiste Sizzla is the headliner for the Christmas Edition of the popular retro party series Wray & Nephew White Overproof Rum Yesterday: The Best of the 90s.
While the event is known for taking patrons on a musical journey through the hits of the 1990s to early 2000s, this time around the promoters are giving patrons a little bit more.
Promoter Gyete Ghartey explained the rationale behind giving patrons ‘more’.
“We are giving patrons more by diversifying the musical options. So. instead of playing music from the 1990s to the early 2000s, our DJs will focus on music from the 1980s to the 1990s and from the 2000s to the 2010s,” Ghartey told the Jamaica Observer’s
Splash on Friday.
Additionally, this is the first time in Kingston that the event will feature a live performer.
“We have never had an artiste billed to perform on the event in Kingston, so this is the first time and it is also a part of our commitment to give our patrons more this Christmas,” said Ghartey.
Scheduled for Saturday December 21 at Mas Camp, the event will feature four DJs, namely DJ Kurt Riley, DJ Marc Chin, DJ Marvin, and DJ Liquid.
Gates open at 9:00 pm and, according to Ghartey, “Patrons are in for a good time. So just come on out and celebrate the joy of the season with us at Wray & Nephew White Overproof Rum Yesterday the Best of the 90s, the first major party of the holiday season.”
