Herbert Morrison and St James clash in U-19 basketball
Herbert Morrison Technical and St James High will put their perfect win records on the table when they meet in a rescheduled ISSA Rural Area Under-19 Boys’ Zone A game at Bogue today at 1:00 pm.
Both teams, who have won their first five games in a row, are coming off big wins over Holmwood Technical, with Herbert Morrison winning 88-40 yesterday after St James beat them 75-66 on Saturday.
On Wednesday, Herbert Morrison’s D’Aire Patterson just missed a triple double to lead the former national champions to an easy win, scoring a game-high 31 points, had 10 steals and eight rebounds.
Herbert Morrison led 16-7 after the first quarter and were up by 18 points 39-21 at half-time and led by 38 points 70-32 at the end of the third quarter.
Tevaughni Bernard scored 16 points for Herbert Morrison and also had seven rebounds and six steals, while Joshua Ferguson scored 14 points and had four steals.
Nicoy Knight scored nine points and had six rebounds for Holmwood, while Ja-Dan Reid scored seven points, had seven rebounds, and two steals.
