Governor General recovering after surgery

KINGSTON, Jamaica – Governor-General Sir Patrick Allen has successfully undergone an elective spinal surgery and is now recovering well according to a press release from King’s House.

The Governor-General is now expressing gratitude to the University Hospital of the West Indies and Tony Thwaites Wing staff, including the surgical team led by Dr Carl Bruce, who provided his medical care.

The 73-year-old, who has served in his capacity as governor general since 2009, also thanked the Jamaican people for their prayers, well wishes, and support.
