Cavalier and Montego Bay United play out 1-1 draw
ST JAMES, Jamaica – Defending champions Cavalier FC came from behind to earn a hard fought 1-1 draw against Montego Bay United at the Montego Bay Sports Complex on Wednesday as the first round of the Jamaica Premier League came to an end.
Shaniel Thomas, who transferred from Cavalier FC to MBU at the start of the season, gave the home team the lead after 27th minutes. Cavalier equalised in the 59th minute through Ronaldo Barrett and both teams settled for a point each.
The point saw MBU move ahead of Waterhouse into third place on goal-difference, both teams tied on 25 points, while Cavalier took over fifth place by themselves on 23 points, one more than Portmore United who occupy the last play-off spot.
Mount Pleasant lead the tables with 28 points, one more than Arnett Gardens.
The second round will start on Sunday.
