ST JAMES, Jamaica— The People’s National Party (PNP) is mourning the passing of former St James North Western Member of Parliament (MP) Carl Miller.
According to a close family member, Miller passed away at his Black River, St Elizabeth home on Tuesday night.
Miller became MP in 1989 and served two terms up to 1997.
In a post on Instagram, Opposition Senator Janice Allen said “Mr Miller served with distinction and we are grateful for his efforts and dedication to [the] country”.
She recounted that Miller, who “was known to many here in the parish as ‘Chief’ was a brilliant lawyer who was the representative of many in the courts in the 1980s”.
