Four alleged gunmen in Spalding stand-off charged
MANCHESTER, Jamaica — Four alleged gunmen who surrendered to police following a tense hours-long standoff in Spalding, Clarendon on December 8 have been charged.
Charged are Andre Shim- Hue, 26, otherwise called ‘3D’ or ‘Brown man’, a resident of Duke Street, Toll Gate Clarendon; Toney Kelly, 28, otherwise called ‘Scobie’ or ‘Poochie’, a resident of Main Street, Toll Gate Clarendon; Romaine Dockery, 28, otherwise called ‘Fungo’, a resident of Main Street, Toll Gate Clarendon; and Shevon Cargnagie, 29, a resident of Dykes Hill, Sanguinetti, Clarendon.
Police said they were charged last Thursday with possession of a prohibited weapon; unauthorised possession of ammunition; shooting with intent; wounding with intent; and using a prohibited weapon to commit a felony.
Police said their court matter is to be transferred from Manchester to Kingston this week.
A senior police source said two of the gunmen, who went live on social media platform TikTok pleading with police as they surrendered, sustained gunshot wounds to their hands.
Police said four firearms, including an AK-47, were seized following the incident.
The stand-off drew a crowd of onlookers to Spalding square.
