Cavalier stunned by Chapelton in JPL
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Chapelton Maroons shocked Cavalier FC 3-1 in their rescheduled Jamaica Premier League game played at Sabina Park on Sunday, handing the defending champions only their second loss of the season.
Chapelton Maroons, which started the game at the foot of the points tables, shot up to 11th place on 12 points as they completed their first round schedule with their third win, ending an eight-game winless run.
Cavalier, which saw their win streak snapped at two games, will complete their first round schedule on Wednesday away against Montego Bay United.
Jamari Howell gave Chapelton Maroons the lead in the 29th minute before Leaunghn Williams added a second in the 66th minute.
Jalmaro Calvin pulled a goal back for Cavalier in the 73rd minute but Malik Stephens came off the bench to restore Chapelton’s two-goal advantage in the 81st minute.
