New Tucson breaks cover
Magna Motors, exclusive distributors for the Hyundai brand of vehicles, unveiled the refreshed 2025 Tucson on Saturday, November 30, at its Oxford Road showroom.
“As one of our best-selling models in Jamaica, the Tucson holds a special place in the hearts of drivers across the island. This 2025 update takes it to the next level, combining bold design with cutting-edge technology and unmatched versatility to meet the needs of professionals, families, and adventurers alike,” Luz Tejeda, managing director, Magna Motors, told guests and media at the launch event.
The updates have been made to the exterior and the interior to support an enhancement in driver technology. Hyundai’s Parametric Dynamic design language is still retained overall, keeping the Tucson’s rather dramatic angularity intact. The main changes have been made primarily to the front grille, bumper, and rear bumper. The grille now has more pronounced vertical elements, and simplifies the vehicle’s signature daytime running lights from 10 lights to eight.
The cabin receives tweaks to make it more ergonomic. Both the instrument cluster and infotainment are now part of a redesigned panoramic curved binnacle. The centre control stack features audio volume and tuning switchgear, along with select heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) controls.
The Tucson is sold in three trim levels. There are two engine options, a naturally-aspirated four-cylinder, 2-litre petrol, and a 2-litre turbo diesel. There are two automatic transmissions, a six-speed and an eight-speed. All-wheel drive is also available.
“With its advanced safety features, superior comfort, and eco-friendly performance options, the Tucson does not just meet expectations, it exceeds them. It is a model that reflects Hyundai’s dedication to reliability, style, and performance while pushing the boundaries to create a better driving experience for everyone,” said Tejeda.
