Wanted man captured in Westmoreland during operation
WESTMORELAND, Jamaica — The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) has captured a wanted man during an intensive security operation in Hartford, Westmoreland on Wednesday.
Arrested is Nicholas Muthra of Benta district, Withorn in the parish.
Muthra was linked to the November 10, 2024 murder of Iwayne Bennett, otherwise called ‘Mad Dog’ in Bastard Cedar Walk.
According to the JCF, Muthra’s capture is part of “Operation Reassurance” — a large-scale initiative to restore order and bolster public confidence in the Westmoreland Division.
Led by Superintendent Othneil Dobson, the operation has mobilised a robust team of personnel from the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF), the Area One Fugitive Apprehension Team, Specialised Operations, the Lottery Scamming Task Force, Traffic and Highway Patrol and the Divisional Quick Response Unit.
Other partner agencies include the Transport Authority and the Jamaica Public Service.
