Trade unionist Collin Virgo escapes serious injuries in Mandeville Highway crash
MANCHESTER, Jamaica — Trade unionist Collin Virgo narrowly escaped serious injuries after his SUV overturned on a section of the May Pen to Williamsfield leg of Highway 2000 on Monday.
He told Observer Online that sometime after 7:00 pm he was driving a Mitsubishi Pajero uphill towards Mandeville when the crash happened near the Williamsfield roundabout.
“I was in the left lane when I came up on a disabled truck on the hard shoulder, but a part of it was sticking out into the lane. I swerved to avoid it and the car flipped twice,” he said.
Virgo was assisted to hospital where he is undergoing examinations due to neck pain.
