Honey Bun Foundation applauds ‘Nation Builders’
THE Honey Bun Foundation said thank you to members of its advisory committee during an intimate cocktail reception at Terra Nova All-Suite Hotel in St Andrew recently.
Members of the committee braved the rain and traffic snarls, showing their dedication to the foundation and what it stands for in building the Jamaican economy through strengthening the small and medium enterprise (SME) sector.
They are part of Honey Bun Foundation’s advisory committee model whereby qualified SMEs are assigned three advisors each to work with them for 12 months so as to achieve set objectives.
The event was also a celebration of the fifth anniversary of the foundation. General Manager Nashauna Lalah, who hosted the event, reminisced on the journey.
“Many of you were with us at Devon House on that very rainy Thursday, November 12, 2019, when we launched the foundation, bringing to life the vision of a better, more supportive landscape for our nation’s SMEs.
“So many of you have been with us on this journey over the past five years, and it’s amazing what we have been able to build and achieve, and it would not have been possible without the support and belief of each one of you here tonight,” said Lalah.
Founder of The Honey Bun Foundation Michelle Chong spoke about its mission as she shared in the occasion.
“The Honey Bun Foundation was founded out of a passion to bring together what I saw were great people with a love for Jamaica and a genuine love for what they are doing. We salute the persons here. You are creating a future Jamaica for our children for generations to come,” said Chong.
In the meantime, keynote speaker Minister of Industry, Investment and Commerce Aubyn Hill lauded the foundation for its strategic initiatives and advisory committee model.
Hill described the advisors as true nation builders who are instrumental in driving SME growth, innovation and expansion.
The advisors who participated in the 2023 model were each presented with plaques proclaiming them ‘Nation Builders’.
