Canadian pensioner on cocaine rap
POLICE from the Firearms and Narcotics Investigation Division arrested and charged 75-year-old Canadian pensioner, Kenneth Daley at Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston on Wednesday, December 4, after he as allegedly caught with cocaine.
The Constabulary Communication Network (CCN) reported that Daley was about to board a flight to Canada when he was intercepted by the officers and, during a search of his luggage, cocaine weighing four kilogrammes was allegedly found concealed in food packages marked “Festival Mix”, “Mega Punch”, and “Jablum Coffee”. He was subsequently arrested.
Daley has since been charged with possession of cocaine, dealing in cocaine, attempting to export cocaine, possession of criminal property, and conspiracy.
“We are committed to disrupting and dismantling the networks of those who seek to traffic illicit firearms and drugs through our borders,” said Superintendent Samuel Blake, head of the Firearms and Narcotics Investigation Division. “This arrest demonstrates the effectiveness of our collaborative efforts with border protection agencies to protect our borders from the illicit trafficking of narcotics and firearms,” he said.
Daley’s court date is being finalised.
