Three senior cops promoted to Deputy Commissioner
Kingston, Jamaica – Three Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) have been elevated to the rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) within the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF). Their letters of promotion were formally presented by Police Commissioner, Dr Kevin Blake, on Thursday.
The officers promoted are DCP Warren Clarke, who oversees the Strategic Operations Portfolio; DCP Karina Powell-Hood, Head of the Force Development and Logistics Portfolio (FDLP); and DCP Andrew Lewis, who leads the Administration and Support Services Portfolio.
DCPs Clarke and Powell-Hood had been serving in an acting capacity since March this year, while DCP Lewis assumed his acting role in September.
DCP Powell-Hood now becomes the highest-ranking woman currently serving in the JCF, a rank previously held by only two women. Her promotion highlights the continued contributions and leadership of women within the organisation, as the JCF celebrates 75 years of women serving, the force said.
