WATCH: Large snake seen, chopped in Long Bay, Portland
KINGSTON, Jamaica — A wildlife expert is reminding the public that the Yellow Boa is a harmless snake and does not need to be feared.
This, as residents of Long Bay in Portland chopped a large Yellow Boa found on a property this week, apparently out of fear.
The snake, according to one of the residents, was the third one seen in the parish in recent months. It is unclear if the snake died as a result of the attack.
Wildlife expert Damion Whyte is urging Jamaicans to instead call the National Environment and Planning Agency if they encounter the reptile rather than harming it.
