NMIA to close temporarily for annual maintenance work
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Norman Manley International Airport (NMIA) will be closed from 10:00 pm on Thursday, December 5, 2024, until 4:00 AM on Friday, December 6, 2024 to conduct annual maintenance work.
PAC Kingston Airport Limited (PACKAL), a subsidiary of Grupo Aeroportuario Del Pacífico (GAP) and operator of NMIA, said in an advisory on Wednesday that the annual maintenance work will be carried out on the airport’s electrical distribution system this week.
It added that normal airport operations resume on Friday.
“During this period, critical safety and security systems will remain operational. There are no flights scheduled during the maintenance window and so, passenger travel will not be impacted. Passengers are still advised, however, to check with their respective airlines for flights outside of this period,” PACKAL said.
The company added that the scheduled maintenance is part of its ongoing commitment to ensuring safe and reliable airport operations.
