Arnett edge Waterhouse to move to 2nd in JPL standings
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Arnett Gardens edged Waterhouse 1-0 on Monday at Drewsland mini stadium, winning their fourth game in a row and moving into second place in the Jamaica Premier League.
Joel Jones’ 18th minute goal was the winner for Arnett who have won five of their last six games and are unbeaten in their last eight games.
Arnett are on 24 points from 11 games, one point behind leaders Mt Pleasant FA who have played 12 games.
The loss left Waterhouse winless over their last three games and dropped them into third place on 22 points from 12 games.
In the first game of the double header, Vere United, who finished the game with 10 players, moved off the foot of the table after playing out a 0-0 draw with Harbour View.
The point took Vere to 10 points from 12 games played, putting them ahead on goal-difference over Molynes United with Chapelton Maroons at the foot on nine points.
Harbour View, who extended their winless run to four games, are in ninth on 12 points.
Vere’s Romarion Thomas was sent off in the 89th minute.
