Renaissance String Quartet returns with evening of music, philanthropy
Renaissance String Quartet is set to enchant audiences once again with Beyond Boundaries II, a live concert under the patronage of Minister of Entertainment and Culture Olivia “Babsy” Grange.
Set for Thursday, December 14, at University Chapel, Mona Campus, the event promises to be an extraordinary evening of music, purpose, and celebration.
The concert is part of the quartet’s annual mission to blend artistic brilliance with social impact. The proceeds will benefit Holy Trinity Cathedral, 180 Degree Foundation, and Immaculate Conception High School Symphony Orchestra.
Beyond the performance, the evening will include a silent auction and an elegant post-concert soirée hosted by Evence in the Garden, allowing attendees to engage with the artistes, music enthusiasts, and patrons of the arts in a delightful setting with complimentary cocktails.
The Renaissance String Quartet (RSQ) is founded by violinists Randall Goosby and Jeremiah Blacklow, violist Jameel Martin, and cellist Daniel Hass, all graduates of the Juilliard School and the Itzhak Perlman Music Program. The New York City-based quartet came together on the basis of over a decade of collaboration and friendship and represents an inclusive vision for the future of classical music, wherein all cultures and histories are welcomed and celebrated.
Reflecting on the upcoming event, Goosby shared: “Beyond Boundaries is about creating music that connects people and places, transcending limits to reach hearts across generations and backgrounds. Performing here in Jamaica allows us to not only share our art but also give back, which makes the experience incredibly meaningful.”
