Gore completes Camelot; looks to Trelawny
GORE Developments is now selling the last few town houses in the sixth and final phase of Camelot Village in Discovery Bay, St Ann, even as it looks ahead to its next project in Trelawny.
“Sales have been extremely brisk across all phases. Currently we have only four town homes left in [Camelot] phase six,” the company said in a written response to questions from the Jamaica Observer.
The remaining town houses, among a total of 32 built, cost $36 million each.
Each two-bedroom, two-and-a-half bathroom unit is 1,312 square feet, fully air-conditioned, and comes with its own water storage tank and a one-year complimentary family membership at Puerto Seco Beach Club.
“Our target market includes those discerning purchasers who wish to own a well-constructed, affordable home close to the ocean and to all of the attractions and amenities of the north coast. Many of our purchasers are expatriates looking to return home or to have a place to visit in their homeland. We also have many purchasers from Kingston and all over the island,” Gore Developments told the Sunday Observer.
Located on Jamaica’s north coast, Camelot Village is a mix of town houses and single-family homes across six phases. Houses in phases two to five ranged from $17.3 million to $23 million. Phase one got under way in 2020 and the final phase was launched this year.
“Phase one offered 92 town houses with top-of-the-line appliances, manicured public spaces, and its own gated entry. Phases two to five feature detached, 960-square feet, two-bedroom, two-bathroom homes on lots with a minimum of 5,000 square feet, many of them with stunning ocean views. These houses can be expanded to the rear or up one floor. Also, larger lots were sold at an additional cost,” said Gore Developments.
The company has a track record of doing major housing developments across Jamaica. In 2006 it completed the 1,600-unit Bogue Village on the outskirts of Montego Bay, St James, as the western city expanded.
Six years later, Gore Developments moved to the neighbouring parish of Trelawny where it built the 850-room Florence Hall project.
It remained in Trelawny for its next project and in 2016 it completed Coral Spring Village: 401 houses and 116 serviced lots, many with spectacular sea views. But it had also been working in St Catherine since 2009 and in 2017 it wrapped up the third and final phase of New Harbour Village. Phases one, two and three have a combined total of 3,221 houses.
In 2020 Gore Developments was back in the west where it finished work on the 1,174-unit Montego West Village. The development includes a community centre and school, along with a range of other facilities.
In 2023 it completed Phoenix Park Village I, which consists of 1,999 houses in a range of sizes.
As Gore Development notes on its website, “Phoenix Park Village I offers affordable, high-quality living for those who wish to work in or visit the nearby city of Kingston. With an ideal location in Greater Portmore, St Catherine, Phoenix Park Village I is perfect for commuters, families and city-lovers alike.”
Now with the final phase of Camelot Village completed, the company has its sights set on a return to familiar stomping grounds.
“We do have an exciting new project in the works in Trelawny, featuring a similar house type to Camelot Village, phase five. We should have more news to share about this next month, as Christmas approaches,” Gore Developments told the Sunday Observer.
