West Indies start positive as Bangladesh bat first in second Test
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Despite losing most of the day’s play due to a wet outfield, the West Indies made a fairly positive start to the second Test against Bangladesh at Sabina Park as the visitors ended on 69 for 2.
The match was scheduled to begin at 10am but was delayed by five hours after the pitch and surrounding areas in the outfield were soggy and unfit for play.
With just only 30 overs possible, Bangladesh, who elected to bat, were 10-2 inside seven overs as they lost Mahmudul Hasan Joy and Mominul Haque to the bowling of Kemar Roach who picked up both wickets.
However, they managed to recover before the close of play with Shadman Islam getting a half century.
Play resumes on Sunday at 10am.
