MOCA conducting raids in St James, St Catherine amid major fraud investigation at Gov’t entity
ST JAMES, Jamaica — A massive multi-agency operation is underway in St James and St Catherine, as detectives from the Major Organised Crime and Anti-Corruption Agency (MOCA) are conducting a series of simultaneous and coordinated targeted operations in connection with a major fraud investigation.
Director of Communications at MOCA, Major Basil Jarrett said the investigation involves a “number of persons suspected to be involved in a major fraud investigation at a Government entity”.
He said arrests are expected to be made in short order.
According to Major Jarrett, teams from MOCA along with members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force visited two locations — one in Montego Bay and the other in Portmore — about 5:00 am, in search of the individuals.
The teams are currently at both locations carrying out search and seizure operations.
Major Jarrett says that more information will be provided shortly.
