Dane Nelson returns to Caymanas Park
Four-time local and two-time international champion jockey Dane Nelson makes his highly anticipated return to competitive riding on the 10-race programme at Caymanas Park tomorrow.
Nelson, who has been riding mainly at Century Mile racetrack in Canada, boasts an impressive international record of 439 winners, 400 seconds, and 367 thirds from 2,289 mounts, earning CAN$5,173,189. This season he has ridden 47 winners, 46 seconds, and 41 thirds from 231 mounts. Nelson has ridden over 1,200 winners at Caymanas Park.,
Nelson, known for his aggressive riding style, is scheduled to ride three horses tomorrow. He will partner with Pineapple and First Grandson for trainer Patrick Lynch in the eighth and ninth races, respectively. In the final race, he will ride Casual Peach, trained by Winchester McIntosh.
Nelson, who has always ridden five winners at the Santa Rosa Park racetrack in Trinidad and Tobago, has also confirmed his participation in the prestigious Mouttet Mile on December 7, adding to the excitement of his return to Caymanas Park.
