$2-million Mr Sensational Trophy up for grabs tomorrow
SIX talented juveniles are set to clash in tomorrow’s highly anticipated $2-million Mr Sensational Trophy, a Restricted Stakes contest for native-bred and imported two-year-olds over 7 furlongs (1,400m).
The event, which is part of the Betting, Gaming and Lotteries Commission (BGLC)/Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association (TOBA) Millionaire Series, promises to be an exciting showdown between some of the island’s most promising young horses.
Here’s a rundown of each contender and their chances:
1. UNRULY MO (USA): (2 b c by Outwork – Snakeinthegrass) – This highly rated American-bred runner makes his debut on local soil and has been impressing in the mornings. He’s a strong contender to win first time out.
2. LOVISA: (2 ch f by Soul Warrior – Palace Gold) – After an encouraging win on debut, Lovisa is expected to make her presence felt in this contest. Her three-length victory over 800m in 47.3 seconds was impressive, and she’s definitely one to watch.
3. HAZELNUT: (2 ch f by Soul Warrior – Money Magnet) – Although she won last time out, Hazelnut is not expected to repeat that performance here.
4. UNSPUN (USA): (2 dk b/br c by Spun to Run – U Needa Ride) – This impressive winner of the Hover Craft Trophy over 6 furlongs (1,200m) on November 2 is a strong contender to win again. His 8¾-length victory in 1:13.4 was a standout performance.
5. BURNING HEDGE: (2 ch f by Hedge Fund – Burning Clearance) –Unfortunately, this filly is not expected to make an impact in this contest.
6. DANKA: (2 ch f by Aveenu Malcaino – Baby P) – While Danka is expected to run well, she’s not likely to take the top spot.
