No promises, just fix roads, PM
Dear Editor,
Prime Minister Andrew Holness promised us tax breaks from General Consumption Tax (GCT) on electricity bills, other, and etcetera.
He has good spin doctors. They know that a lot of Jamaicans are angry with Jamaica Pubic Service (JPS), thus they’ll fall for it hook, line and sinker to this politricking. They know that the average Jamaica is licky-licky. Does that mean that they are also foolish?
As easy as Holness makes it sound, JPS is not majority-owned by Jamaicans.
Prime Minister, fix the roads and you’ll get many votes come election time. Many of our roads are in a disgraceful state.
I tote around with a tape measure in my car and at some of these junctions I measure the holes to see if my car can climb back out. Believe or not, as bad as most of the taxi drivers operate, I feel bad for them. Driving on these roads however many days a week must take a toll on their cars and themselves.
I shake my head so often at these roads that if it hadn’t been ‘nailed on’ good it would fall off. Still, based on how I worry at times, it may do so one day if the roads are not fixed.
