KFC spends $220-m to open Christiana branch
KINGSTON, Jamaica— Restaurant of Jamaica (ROJ) has disclosed that it spent approximately $220 million to construct the new KFC restaurant in Christiana, Manchester which was officially opened to the public last Sunday.
Describing the new store location as a major investment, ROJ says it “marks a significant milestone in the brand’s continued expansion across Jamaica, creating 40 new jobs and boosting the local economy”.
With this new addition, there are now 41 KFC locations islandwide, with Christiana being the 27th restaurant outside of the Kingston Metropolitan Area, ROJ said.
The company stated that opening a location in Christiana is in accordance with its ongoing strategy to bring the quick-service experience to more Jamaicans, especially in rural areas, while driving economic growth in these communities.
Marketing Manager at ROJ, Andrei Roper expressed excitement for the new Christiana location.
“We are delighted to bring the finger lickin’ good KFC experience to the vibrant community of Christiana and surrounding areas such as Spalding, which will also benefit,” said Roper.
“We are especially excited to create job opportunities for residents in and around the area. Our expansion into Christiana is a testament to our commitment to investing in local communities and in making our delicious meals accessible to Jamaicans everywhere. We are very excited to become an integral part of the Christian community and already, the response and the welcome that we have received have been overwhelming,” he added.
The marketing manager informed that beyond its role as a quick-service restaurant, KFC plans to engage with, and support, the surrounding community through various initiatives, solidifying its position as a committed partner in the area’s development.
