Engineer facing multiple charges after robbery
KINGSTON, Jamaica— A 26-year-old engineer has been slapped with a battery of charges after allegedly taking part in an armed robbery.
Jermaine Reid, otherwise called ‘Jerry,’ of Gordon Road, Kingston, was arrested following an incident in Highgate, St Mary, on Saturday.
Reports from the Highgate police are that about 8:40 pm, a man was in a parking lot when he was attacked by two men. One of the hoodlums brandished a firearm and robbed the man of his cell phone, valued at US$1,500, and physically assaulted him.
A report was made to the police, leading to Reid’s arrest.
Reid has been charged with robbery with aggravation, conspiracy to commit robbery with aggravation, possession of prohibited weapon, using a firearm to commit a felony and assault at common law
He is set to appear in the Port Maria Parish Court on Thursday, December 5.
