A win for Trevor ‘Slicer’ Simpson aboard Lambo Girl
LONG-SERVING jockey Trevor “Slicer” Simpson made a winning return to competitive racing at Caymanas Park on Saturday, November 23, 2024 by guiding Lambo Girl to a convincing victory in the Mounted Troop Division, Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) Trophy.
Simpson is currently on his winter break from riding most of the year in Canada.
Lambo Girl, a four-year-old chestnut filly trained by Adrian Prince, dominated the native-bred four-year-olds and upward (non-winners of two) and imported four-year-olds and upward (maidens) call. She won the 4-furlong (800m) sprint by an impressive 6½ lengths, stopping the clock in 48.1 seconds.
Lambo Girl broke off well at the start of the race and quickly assumed the lead. She stayed with the field for the first part of the race before drawing away with ease.
Readmylips (Dick Cardenas) was second and Money Box (Shane Ellis) third.
