Spaces Jamaica unveils ‘Home for the Holiday’ fundraiser for family impacted by Beryl
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Spaces Jamaica has unveiled its ‘Home for the Holiday’ initiative to celebrate its 17th anniversary.
The project aims to raise $1.5 million to build, furnish, and decorate a home for a family in Clarendon who lost everything during Hurricane Beryl and has been living in a shelter ever since.
The announcement was made at an anniversary brunch with long-standing customers, friends, and supporters which was held at Spaces’ headquarters in Ardenne Emirates on November 24.
In collaboration with Food For The Poor (FFTP), Spaces is leveraging its expertise to create a beautiful and functional home. During the brunch event, the company made its initial donation to Food for the Poor to begin construction of the home. Additional fundraising efforts will enable Spaces to design and outfit the house with stylish furniture, linens, décor, and storage solutions—ensuring it becomes a true sanctuary for the beneficiaries.
Spaces Jamaica founder and creative director Janelle Pantry-Coke expressed heartfelt gratitude during the event.
“I am truly overwhelmed by the incredible support we’ve received over the years from our customers and partners,” she said. “Celebrating 17 years is not just about looking back on our success but also about giving back. We’ve created countless beautiful homes across Jamaica, and now, through our ‘Home for the Holiday’ initiative, we’re building a beautiful home for a family in need.”
The initiative has garnered strong backing from corporate sponsors, including JMMB Joan Duncan Foundation, Blind Designs, Proven Properties, and Freight Handlers Limited. Additional funding will come directly from Spaces, a gesture made possible by the dedication of its staff and the loyalty of its customers.
Marsha Burrell-Rose, Development and Marketing Manager at FFTP, highlighted the transformative impact of the project.
“This family lost everything during Hurricane Beryl. Having Spaces’ involvement is life-changing. Janelle’s vision, supported by her sponsors and customers, is bringing hope and transformation. This isn’t just a house; it will be a beautifully designed home that changes lives.” Burrell-Rose added, “As we prepare to launch our ‘Hearts in Action’ initiative in 2025, this project exemplifies the power of compassionate action.”
Spaces Jamaica, renowned for its tagline “Everything for Every Style,” is using its milestone anniversary to reflect on its journey – from a modest 500 sq. ft. store to its beautifully designed showroom now located on Ardenne Road – and to leave a lasting impact on the community. The ‘Home for the Holiday’ initiative underscores the company’s ethos of blending style with purpose.
Spaces will continue to fundraise throughout December to maximise the donation for the family. Interested persons and sponsors can reach out to the Spaces team at 876-926-4013.
