JLP comms team did well at conference
Dear Editor,
As a long time political activist and three-term former elected representative I have to register my commendations to the youngsters who anchored the mounting of the recent Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) 81st anniversary conference.
The layout of the venue and the messaging of the speakers show a strong and connected Labour Party communication team.
The praise and worship team, notably from a rural space, brought deliverance and spirit to a growing crowd waiting to hear their leaders.
The use of the large boards to ensure those both inside and outside the National Arena could see and hear the messaging being delivered from the podium was superb.
I wonder if people realise that 50 per cent of the speakers were women? Each notably with their own distinct posture, voice, and message. This is a historic achievement for a political annual general meeting and more so as the majority of party workers nationally, are women.
What effectively sealed it for me was the ‘after-party’ gathering when the conference was done, right there at the Arena. This allowed the leader himself, his wife Juliet, Members of Parliament, senators, councillors, and others to meet, mix and mingle cementing the day’s agenda, Active and Strong!
What a historical achievement!
These youngsters have earned their spurs and I look forward to their emerging careers in the JLP.
