SRC invites public to access holiday meat smoking services
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Residents are encouraged to take advantage of the Scientific Research Council’s (SRC) smoking service at its Old Hope Road facility in Kingston to prepare their favorite cuts of meat for the holiday table.
Process Development Manager at the SRC, Arlando Dunkley, shared that the organisation offers meat smoking services for customers and also provides ready-to-purchase smoked meat products on-site.
“We accept whole chickens and cuts of pork for processing, and the cut-off point for submissions is December 13,” he said.
Dunkley assured the public that the SRC adheres to strict food safety protocols, ensuring that all products are processed in a safe and hygienic environment.
He emphasised that meats are processed separately to prevent cross-contamination, with thorough cleaning procedures between batches.
“We have been offering this service for several years, and year after year, we see more customers returning because they trust the quality of our products. Customers can rely on us for the best quality smoked meat at the best price as well,” Dunkley added.
To submit meat for processing, customers can visit the SRC facility or contact the office directly by phone. Once the quantity of meat to be processed is determined, customers will receive a cost estimate and a scheduled drop-off date.
