Voter turnout below 40 per cent across the board
KINGSTON, Jamaica – The Electoral Commission of Jamaica says voter turnout for the November 22 by-elections have failed to crack the 40 percent mark in any of the divisions.
Aenon Town saw the highest turnout by far with 39.88 per cent, followed by Morant Bay at 27.78 per cent, while Trelawny Southern and St. Andrew North Western measured 18.25 per cent and 4.91 per cent respectively up to 2:00 this afternoon.
Voting continues until 5:00 p.m. today.
