Reggae Boyz to face St Vincent in Gold Cup qualifier in March
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Jamaica’s Reggae Boyz have been drawn to face St Vincent and the Grenadines in the qualifying rounds of the Concacaf Gold Cup in March next year, it was announced on Wednesday.
After being eliminated from the Concacaf Nations League in the quarter-finals by defending champions United States on Monday, the Reggae Boyz are among 14 countries that will have to earn their spots in the Gold Cup through a home and away play-offs, according to Concacaf, the governing body for the sport in the region.
According to a release, “The format will be a home and away match-up which comprises 14 teams and seven countries will book their ticket to the group stages of the 2025 Gold Cup.”
Concacaf has ranked the participating national teams 1-14 based on the Concacaf rankings, with the highest-ranked national team facing the lowest-ranked national team (1 vs 14).
