Steven Todd saddles 19th winner for the season with a double
STEVEN Todd solidified his position among Jamaica’s top trainers with another impressive showing on Saturday, November 16, 2024. Todd saddled his 19th winner of the season, courtesy of Bad Investment and Jet Ski Girl.
Bad Investment kicked off the day’s racing with a thrilling victory in the opening race, a three-year-old and upward Optional Claiming ($400,000-$300,000) event over 7½ furlongs (1,400m).
With Raddesh Roman in the saddle, Bad Investment won by four lengths in a time of 1:38.1, beating Stickydon (Phillip Parchment) and Wright In Flight (Ramon Nepare).
Jet Ski Girl followed up in the sixth race, winning the United Racehorse Trainers’ Association of Jamaica (URTAJ) Humanitarian Award, a Maiden Condition race for native-bred four-year-olds and upward over four furlongs (800m).
Jet Ski Girl (Dane Dawkins) came from behind runners to win the race by three-parts of a length, ahead of Empressinthebreeze (Samantha Fletcher) and Beautiful Moon (Ramon Nepare). The winning time was 50.1.
Todd’s double win highlights his consistency and skill as a trainer.
