WATCH: Vendors recover Bible unscathed from Pearnel Charles Arcade fire
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Amid the devastation of Monday’s fire at the Pearnel Charles Arcade in downtown Kingston, vendors were left amazed when they recovered a Bible that remained completely unharmed.
Roughly 95 stalls were destroyed in the fire this morning affecting the livelihoods of 54 vendors, but the Bible was not burnt, despite being pulled from the section that had been engulfed in flames.
The vendor who removed the Bible from the wreckage was in awe: “Out of everything weh burn, living fire, ah the Bible alone nuh catch, not even a page, not even a page of the Bible…You can’t tell me say the thing not powerful youth.”
“Not even a page nuh catch, not even a fire burn, not even heat touch it,” he added.
