UPDATE: Man shot dead outside Rousseau Primary School identified
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The man who was shot dead outside the gate of the Rousseau Primary School in St Andrew Friday morning has been identified.
He is 36-year-old Dashwan Newry, a taxi operator of Barbican Road.
Confirmed reports are that about 8:55 am, Newry was making a drop off at the school when he was attacked by a gunman who opened fire hitting him.
The gunman escaped in a waiting Toyota Probox motorcar, the police said.
Newry was later taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The police are now investigating the circumstances surrounding his death.
