Ravel Morrison handed Reggae Boyz recall for USA second leg
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Midfielder Ravel Morrison has been added to the Reggae Boyz squad for Monday’s second leg of the Concacaf Nations League quarterfinals against the USA to be played in St Louis, Missouri, Observer Online has been informed.
The skillful Morrison has not played for Jamaica since March 15, 2023 in their 2-2 draw against Mexico in the Nations League.
The Reggae Boyz trail the USA 1-0 after Thursday’s first game at the National Stadium in Kingston and must win by two goals on Monday to qualify for the semifinals.
At a recent press conference to name the squad, Reggae Boyz coach Steve McClaren praised former Manchester United starlet Morrision as “my type of player”.
McClaren said then that he had not called Morrison for the camp as the player had not played enough football, having only recently joined newly formed UAE Second Division League club Precision after a long period without a side.
Jamaica have long struggled at midfield and it is felt by many fans that Morrison’s addition would add much-needed creativity to the unit.
