Flow marks Mission Week with over 300 hours of community service
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Flow employees put their passion for community service into action last week, wrapping up a series of philanthropic activities to mark the company’s annual Mission Week.
Now in its sixth year, Mission Week is an initiative led by Flow’s parent company, Liberty Latin America, uniting employees across Latin America and the Caribbean in volunteer activities designed to uplift and empower local communities.
This year, over 100 Flow volunteers made a difference to more than 1,000 community members, exemplifying Flow’s dedication to building a stronger, more connected Jamaica.
Danielle Savory, senior communications manager at Flow, described Mission Week as a deeply-rooted part of the company’s culture.
“At Flow, we’re committed to making a difference,” Savory said. “Mission Week is more than just a series of events—it reflects our values as a company to impact lives for the better and our ongoing dedication to uplifting communities across Jamaica.”
Throughout the week, Flow employees engaged in various activities to connect with and support local communities. At the Webster Memorial Basic School, volunteers hosted engaging reading sessions with young students, fostering literacy and sparking their imaginations.
In partnership with Junior Achievement Jamaica, Flow also welcomed high school students to its corporate office for an inspiring career and mentorship open house where Flow team members by department shared insights into telecommunications careers, motivating the students to pursue opportunities in technology.
In Trench Town—a community known as the birthplace of reggae music—Flow equipped the Joy Town Foundation, which operates a school at the Ambassadors Amphitheatre facility, with computers and internet connectivity to further enhance the educational experience.
Camille Johnson, manager of the Joy Town Foundation, expressed her gratitude. “The support from Flow has been transformative for our students. These new Chromebooks and internet connectivity will open doors to learning and digital opportunities, empowering them in ways we only dreamed of before,” she said.
Flow’s Mission Week activities also extended to health and wellness initiatives. The company, through contribution made by staff members donated feminine hygiene products to the Her Flow Foundation, an organisation dedicated to menstrual health and equity across the island.
Shelly-Ann Weeks, founder of the Her Flow Foundation, expressed her appreciation, saying, “Flow’s support means that many women and girls will have access to the hygiene products they need.”
In 2023, employees of Flow and other companies across Liberty Latin America contributed 7,800 volunteer hours in 22 countries. More than 1300 employees also partnered with over 100 community organisations.
