Yard Mas Carnival to host official costume launch in 2025
On the heels of what it dubbed a “successful 2024 Carnival experience”, Yard Mas Carnival has signalled its intentions to host a costume launch in January 2025.
Hoping it will be a “Yard Mas New Year”, organisers in a press release said the costume presentation promises to “usher in a fresh wave of excitement for the Carnival season, kicking off the new year with a celebration of vibrant costumes from new and returning designers”.
For his part, Andrew Bellamy, managing director of Yard Mas Carnival, said: “Almost a decade ago, I was grateful to be a part of the change in the Carnival scene with bands launching at least 6 months before Carnival Day.
This post-COVID era has once again seen the need to innovate and be flexible in how we plan and execute costume launches and schedule events in a time when the local entertainment landscape is evolving.”
Bellamy also mentioned that there has been a move by some key stakeholders and new entrants to the regional landscape to have Carnival experiences closer to the end of this year. This diversity in the events tapestry, he shared, “allows us to plan better and execute an unforgettable new year of Carnival magic for 2025”.
Yard Mas Carnival says it will continue to push the envelope in delivering an authentic Jamaican Carnival experience, innovating and curating engagements that reflect the essence of Jamaican culture while creatively infusing elements from other Caribbean countries.
