Reggae Boyz departure to USA postponed after plane developed ‘technical issue’
KINGSTON, Jamaica— The departure of the Reggae Boyz to St Louis, Missouri for Monday’s return leg of the Concacaf Nationals League quarter-final game against the USA has been pushed back until Saturday after the plane they were travelling in developed problems and had to return to Kingston.
The Jamaican delegation had left as scheduled on Friday at 3:00pm, a report from the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) said, “however due to a technical issue with the aircraft, the plane returned to Jamaica a short while ago.”
The report went on to say the “delegation returned safely to Jamaica and plans are being made to depart to St Louis on Saturday.”
Jamaica lost the first game of the home-and-away tie 1-0 at the National Stadium on Thursday and faces the USA at the Energizer Park (formerly known as City Park) on Monday, where they need to win by two goals to advance to the semi-finals.
