Pablo YG, Chronic Law, Jahvillani and more for Buried Alive
YGF Records head producer Tevin Richards has released a compilation titled Buried Alive.
The project, which drops today, November 15, to coincide with Richards’ birthday, was co-produced by Scotty’s Muziq Composers Phantom, Yo Joni and Retro.
With nine tracks in total, the project features a slew of big names, among them Chronic Law, Jahvillani, Jahshi, Pablo YG, Dadamill, Jase, I-Sure, and AI Milly featuring Ballateli.
Having been in the music game for almost 9 years, Richards has been a big contributor to the dancehall and reggae industry, with many high-profile projects with top artistes across the music scene.
“My recipe for success is to keep proving the naysayers wrong. Throughout my career I kept dreaming and my dreams are turning into reality,” the producer told the Jamaica Observer’s Splash.
His début project, Chronicles Of Success, was released in 2016 and paved the way for his journey to success. Subsequently, he released projects such as the 2018 EPs Gifted and Growth, which featured artistes such as Shenseea, Devin Di Dakta, Vershon, and African dancehall artiste Shatta Wale.
One of the biggest hits to come from the label is the 2023 release Narcissistic, a collaborative effort featuring dancehall acts Valiant and Stalk Ashley. With over 32 million views on YouTube and almost seven million streams on Spotify since release, the track is arguably one of the biggest hits to come from YGF Records.
“Hard work and dedication are essential in overcoming obstacles. I believe that every challenge presents an opportunity for growth. When faced with difficulties I remind myself that perseverance is key. It’s not just about talent; it’s about the effort you put in and the willingness to keep pushing forward, even when the going gets tough. Each setback can teach us valuable lessons and strengthen our resolve to succeed,” Richards said.
