Man shot dead outside Rousseau Primary School
A man believed to be a parent was shot dead outside the gate of the Rousseau Primary School in St Andrew on Friday morning sometime between 8:30 am and 9:00 am.
The man had just arrived at the school to drop off at least three children, who all witnessed the murder, the Jamaica Observer was told. The children were said to have hurried out of the motor vehicle which brought them to school and ran in different directions during the gun attack.
Vendors in the vicinity of the school also scampered.
The majority of students who attend the school were reportedly already inside their classrooms and did not witness the murder.
Before 10:00 am, parents were alerted in WhatsApp groups to pick up their children as school would be closed for the day.
Police are currently processing the scene.
This is the second incident of this nature at the institution since the start of the school year. A parent was shot dead on the school compound in October.
