Chicken and Tings partners with Allbox to create eco-friendly packaging
KINGSTON, Jamaica— Chicken and Tings has partnered with Allbox Limited to create an eco-friendly packaging that is made with 80 per cent compostable materials in a move towards environmental sustainability.
The packaging, which was created by Allbox Limited, was unveiled last month, a press release announced. The new design of the box retains the recognisable Chicken & Tings branding, but embraces environmentally friendly practices, while setting a new standard for eco-conscious dining in Jamaica.
The new packaging will be rolled out across all Chicken & Tings locations, with plans to further expand sustainability efforts in the near future, the press release said.
“We’re thrilled to collaborate with Chicken & Tings on this innovative project,” said PJ Wright, founder and director of Allbox Limited. “Our custom packaging design aligns with their brand identity while adhering to our goal of providing sustainable solutions. As a new innovator in the packaging industry, we’re proud to offer businesses eco-friendly alternatives that don’t sacrifice style or functionality.”
The decision to move towards sustainable packaging aligns with the changes the Jamaican government has implemented, including the ban on plastic and styrofoam lunch boxes.
“As a fully to-go Jamaican, family-oriented brand, we believe it is essential for Chicken & Tings to be a pioneer in this space,” said Emelio Madden, chief executive officer (CEO) and founder of Chicken & Tings. “By taking this step, we are not only aligning with the government’s eco-friendly goals but also leading by example within the fast food industry in Jamaica.”
The companies stated that collaborating on this initiative has indicated that environmental sustainability does not have to come at the expense of quality or customer experience. They added that by combining visually appealing packaging with compostable materials, Chicken & Tings is paving the way for a new era of fast food in Jamaica—one that balances consumer demand with environmental responsibility.
“We’re committed to making choices that not only enhance our brand but also contribute to a better planet. Partnering with Allbox Ltd allows us to offer our customers great food, packaged in materials that are as innovative as they are sustainable. This custom packaging represents the next step in our journey toward becoming a more eco-friendly business,” said Madden.
