US FAA bans civilian flights to Haiti for 30 days
NEW YORK, United States (AFP) – The United States’ aviation regulator banned on Tuesday all civilian flights from the country to Haiti for a period of 30 days, a day after a gun attack on a passenger jet at the Port-au-Prince airport.
“The FAA issued a Notice to Air Mission (NOTAM) prohibiting US civil aviation operations in the territory and airspace of Haiti below 10,000 feet for 30 days,” read a statement from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
